Could the server be offline?

Please check if the FTP or SFTP server is actually running and the Ubuntu firewall hasn't reactivated itself after the update.helmet wrote:I just tried connecting to a different server through FileZilla and I was able to connect. In this case, the problem seems to be coming from my server. The website running off the server still works and I can access it remotely, so it is online. Is there a setting somewhere on there I need to change to allow the FTP to connect?
Odd. Working beautifully for me, just updated to 3.3.2RC1. Please try again, maybe it was just a fluke.WakkaWakka wrote:Getting this when trying to update from 3.3.0 to 3.3.1 from within the application. All normal FTP/SFTP operation is working fine, just your update server. Never happened before, and I have no software firewall or AV that could cause this. I tried accessing the URL through a browser, which works fine. Widows Firewall is not enabled.

You know, we get that discussion on every update of FileZilla. Users complaining, when in fact their stupid firewalls simply locked them out because the FileZilla executable changed. With firewalls, you trade (some) security for convenience. Secure and convenient doesn't exist, it's a trade-off.I'm a big fan of Filezilla, absolutely love it, and I mean no disrespect but it's obvious that the changes made in the recent upgrade is what's causing the problem, "ECONNREFUSED".
Version changes are here: http://filezilla-project.org/versions.php (also on the front page), and very detailed here: http://filezilla-project.org/changelog.php. Both reachable directly from the front page. Additionally, upon autoupdate, the version history is also shown. And, as I posted above, even a recompile with no changes at all would trigger that "problem": A new executable with a different checksum, and firewalls go into block mode.It would be nice if instead of replying in a condescending manner almost putting the blame on the "incompetent users of Filezilla" you would just come out and explain what changes were made, to cause this problem.
Thanks for sharing, I'll try it also.banzaiboy wrote:Hey I don't know how or what but i can connect now, I did cut the power to my modem, which may have helped But i don't really now.
