How do I load my web file to the host

I am so new to this! I have never done anything like this before and the computer logo is really hard to follow. Someone please HELP me!

I contacted the "hosting" service that told me to download Filezilla to upload the website I created in Publisher. I was able to input the information correctly into Filezilla and "transfer" the webfile I created. I have no idea what to do next.

A friend upload some stuff on the website as a place holder. I wanted to replace that for this new website. But I have no idea what to do next. Filezilla says the "transfer" was successful. How to I now upload it to the hosting service?

Is there a webpage with some type of step by step process?
