server domain name

could someone tell me where i can read on how to get a domain name setup for my ftp server/ webserver im having problems problems with it as the internal ip address of the machine keeps changing im using a linksys wireless router and when i link a picture or something to my server it looks like this

http://68.205.xxx.xxx/index/image.jpg

when it should look like this

http://example.com/index/image.jpg

can someone tell me how to fix this problem
