requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube

I am receiving this message and one of two things i cannot get my website back up and do not know how to insert the ioncube loader i have it saved as a compressed file at the moment can anyone help this is my main website error code seen below:
Site error: the file /hermes/web08/b989/mahoney47/calendar/functions/functions.inc.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.[/color]
can anyone help me fix this error

yes i was givwn the site to control and post events and calendar there upcomming events i was having no problems til one day i received this error and made no senses since i did just the basics
