Uploading problems - Folders of files?

#1 Post by Johneltin » 2010-02-18 00:31

Hello, I have had all my individual files uploaded (drag & drop) to 'public HTML' and they've worked fine for a year and now that I want to upload a separate site (Mast Stepping) I thought it better to remove them and upload the folders only (including my original 'Publish') that contain those files. However, when I type my URL I get the white page with this:
Index of /
MastStepWeb3_files/
Publish/
cgi-bin/
You can see this if you Google John Ahern Textiles.
Any help appreciated.

That's to be expected if you have no index.html document in the initial directory. You must create one (either a selection page or a redirection to your preferred web). To directly reach the different webs, you have to include the directory in the URL, like www.example.com/Publish/ . Ah, please name files and directories on your server only in lowercase. The server probably runs on a *NIX OS and makes a difference.
