How do I use Filezilla?

I have just downloaded Filezilla, I am not experienced in using FTP programs.
Basically, I have purchased a domain, and I want to put a phpbb forum onto it, how do I do so?

Can someone please provide steps in doing so? I have downloaded and unpacked the phpbb file from their website.

Step 1: Check if you actually got webspace, not just a domain name.
Step 2: Check if the webspace provider supports PHP5 and MySQL (or similar database solution).
Step 3: You unpacked the phpBB archive already? there is a very good and verbose installation documentation packaged with it. Read it.
Step 4: In short, you create a database for phpBB, then upload (and configure) the package files the documentation tells you to. After that, you run the phpBB setup and follow all steps it provides. At the (successful) end of the phpBB setup, it is installed.

Thank you for your reply to my situation, it helped me greatly.
I am still having a bit of a problem, I have uploaded all the necessary files to my new web host, but nothing seems to have happened?
Do you happen to know what might be the problem?

Did you run the phpBB setup script after uploading? It's in the install/ directory. This script will check for a few possible problems and set up the config.php, which is responsible for (besides other things) connecting phpBB to its database. Without that connection, either an error is displayed or simply a blank page.
