Problem with hosting things online

#1 Post by Konan » 2010-04-08 14:06

Hello, Me and my class friends got in homework to make a web site that you can access through any computer. And we got a free FileZilla account from our teacher to use.

When I'm hosting things to our site it shows this in the program,

and after when I go to the actual website it shows this <removed>

Your files have to go into the public_html directory, that's what it is for.

The 403 Forbidden you get because the index document is missing and index listings are prohibited.

Having similar trouble, how to find out a site's hostname? Should I contact the hosting company or is there another way?

Hostname is simply another term for the server URL.

Not quite, URLs are much broader in scope, hostnames are just one component of a URL.
