Changes to the file are not reflecting on the actual website

Hi all,
I have uploaded the updated file from local site to the remote site, the transfers are successful with no errors but unfortunately it is not reflecting any of the changes on the website.
I have tried to refresh the local site before uploading the new file, its still the same.
I have tried numerous times with different files and it is not happening.
Please help.
