Problems uploading changes to site

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting my site to look the same on the server as it does on my computer.

EG If I open the Welcome.html on my computer for example it looks as I want it to but it doesn't look the same when I upload it to the server.

Please help from a non programmer's point of view. I would appreciate suggestions. I have gone so far as to delete all directories from the server and re-upload the entire website from scratch to no avail. I have also deleted any directories with 0 file size.

Actually it is mainly the "Welcome" page that isn't right. Also whenever I enter my site name which is

on a browser it appears as

http://www.AustralianHistoryPictures.com/Welcome.html

….. could that have something to do with it?

Thank you, but somehow my site seems to be looking right tonight. Don't know why, maybe some delay in updates???
