when i upload .htaccess file in my root directory .the whole domain stop working .. how to solve this problem.

i only add 404 codes in my htaccess file.

I would suggest you have an error in your code or perhaps you uploaded it as binary.

Does the site work if you delete the .htaccess file.

Can I see the htaccess file?
What do you have in it?

Is it a htaccess file for wordpress / simple website / webshop or!
