I am new to using Filezilla to upload to my website and need some help with a question. In the "remote site" side of the interface, I have a few different folders from different versions of my website. I just revised some features on my site (locally) and created a folder with the enclosed website files. I have already uploaded this folder to the remote site but I am unsure how to direct the host server (1and1.com) to use this new folder instead of the prior one. As a result, my revisions do not get posted to the internet. What do I need to do so that the new folder and website come up when I put in the web address into the browser? Uploading the folder is not a problem. Directing 1and1 to use it instead of a previous one is. Thanks for any help available

Usually you have no control over the lower web server configuration and thus cannot redirect it to use another directory as web root. You are supposed to have the website file in one defined location for the web server to pick them up.

So the correct procedure would be:
1. Move the current files from the web root to a backup directory.
2. Upload or move the new website files to the web root.
