Error compiling libfilezilla on ubuntu 18.04

#1 Post by user352 » 2020-10-16 15:41

Hi there, the Ubuntu apt repositories don't keep filezilla up-to-date so when I get sick of the update pop-ups, I eventually break down and try recompiling.

I'm currently working on libfilezilla-0.25.0. Here are reports from apt on which libraries I have:

automake is already the newest version (1:1.15.1-3ubuntu2).
libgnutls28-dev is already the newest version (3.5.18-1ubuntu1.4).
nettle-dev is already the newest version (3.4-1).
gcc is already the newest version (4:7.4.0-1ubuntu2.3).
make is already the newest version (4.1-9.1ubuntu1).
gettext is already the newest version (0.19.8.1-6ubuntu0.3).

I followed the INSTALL file:
mkdir compile
cd compile
../configure

configure's output:

Any tips on things to try would be great. Thanks!

Looks like a compiler bug. Can you please try with a more recent compiler?

The bug in question: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=71546
