500 Command not understood

Hi if you could help me you would be a life saver!

I am brand new to this whold ftp thing. I use FileZilla and when I am trying to upload a file for my website there is always an error. Here's what it says:

See? So it won't let me upload them. The file shows up but for some reason it shows up in the remote sites as 0 bytes. Then the queing file goes to failed transfers.

I need help and if you could just take the time to help that would be great! :)
**NOTE: Please dont tell me to click quickconnect again...it doesn't work.

Check firewalls and other soft-/hardware that could possibly interrupt the connection. Contact the server admin so (s)he can do the same.

Location: In a small white padded room.
You might try changing FTP mode to active. Long shot.
