Unable to connect to specific folder

#1 Post by webhamster » 2005-06-09 21:46

I'd like to start with a big ol' hello to all @ FileZilla's (FZ) board - this is my first post, so be as rough as you want

I am using:
Windows 98 s/e (no laughing, unless you are pointing at the same time).
Filezilla 2.2.9 (currently. I've also used ...7 upto ...13) Client
SFTP

I am able to connect to a server, but not a specific folder (others in the office with FZ are able, however they have XP & 2K). The folder contains a ton of files (some person is trying to tell me that is the problem: "98 is unable to handle the amount of files ... blah-blah", but a previous client was capable. Heck, it is only a few thousand.)
I navigate my way to the folder and I click on it ('images') and I see the pretty little lights flashing, but after a bit, they stop and I can no longer back track through directories (I am forced to restart the program).

Uh, W T F over (that is my way of asking what's up doc )

hi, this form you have to give it some time for help, not a few hours but at least 24 or so !!!!!

now it sounds like it stops on you
what does the message log show and what about a de-bug log?
edit
settings
debug

sorry i'm a lightweight but pretty sure someone will need to know more details than "it just stops"

Good day Mitch; thank you kindly for your reply/post.

First, 'light weight' or heavy, I appreciate the fact that you responded/replied.
I will try to be more patient - this problem is trying my patience, and I apologize.

Debug: I placed a check mark by the setting, 'Enable Debug Menu', however I do not see the option or text in any menu (with the exception of the settings menu, of course) and the HELP option is not very, helpful.

Here is the exact log or string of messages, which I receive:

Status: Directory listing successful

Trace: SftpControlSocket.cpp(289): List(FALSE,0,"/usr/local/www/www.example.com/html/images/content/","",1) caller=0x01004ad4

Exactly how long is or so ? ? ? ? ? ?

Know what, never mind, I found and fixed the problem: imagine, the entire time (boy, do I feel silly saying this) I thought it was Windows 98 yet it turns out it is the POS PROGRAM .

Whether or not it is free or whatever ... your definition of support depicts or reflects what you yourself (speaking to the peeps @ F_ _ _zilla) think of the program.

Uninstall and go purchase a good version is the solution.

Well, now that that's done with, I applaude everyone here for ignoring the ingorance. ;)
