FileZilla Client ver 3.2.8 - Freezes

I had the same problem as well. I tried the fix from boco and it worked beautifully. Changing the filezilla XML file in notepad worked great. Filezilla is the best ftp client, and now I can use it on Windows 2000! Thank you boco!

Thank you very much for the tip with disabeling the Auto-Update.

I´m using filzeilla on a Athon2600 machine, an Filezilla freezes complete after starting the program.
I´m using Win2k Prof SP4, with the latest patches.

Closing of the program with the task-manager dosent work, even logoff/logon did not solve the problem (a dead window was shown, it cab´t be closed) Only a reboot brought back a clean desktop.

The last Version of FZ without this problem on my machine was 3.2.4.1.
The first Version of FZ where I noticed this problem on my machine was 3.2.7.1.

With UpdateCheck off FZ 3.3.0.1 ist running fine (after crashing with UpdateCheck on)

Something changed in the time between these two versions of FZ.

Something's wrong with your entire system if you cannot kill a simple program.

Yes, but this time it seems to be something especially concerning Win2kSP4. And it started at the time the auto-update was changed from HTTP to HTTPS. I don't know what components are used, but could it be something with the IE version? A patched Win2k has IE6 installed, the few XP installations botg mentioned may have, too.

Possibly a bug in Windows that has since been fixed in XP. Time to update.
