problems uploading website

I am a total newbie using Filezilla for the first time. I have uploaded all my files including the index.html file to my /public_html folder. When I type my website name into the browser I get 'Index of/' and then a list of the files I have uploaded. If I then click on the Index.html file it will take me to my website. How do I make it automatically produce my website on screen? I can give the website name if it helps.

That's your problem. The file must be named index.html (lowercase i). On UNIX/Linux servers the file system is case sensitive.
