Can't download files

I've never had any problems with FileZilla on XP, but just switched to Windows 7 and can't download or upload files from FileZilla.

I have the most recent version of FileZilla.

Any tips on how to remedy this?

Do you have Windows Firewall activated? It is now more advanced and can block outgoing connections.

I have Kaspersky internet security and added FileZilla as a trusted connection, so there shouldn't be any restrictions as far as that goes.

And Windows firewall is not activated, to answer your question specifically.

Yes, I see the list of files available, but the 'download' and 'add files to queue' buttons are in gray and can't be clicked.

Look at where you are trying to download to and you'll get an epiphany.

You must point the local side to an actual, physical directory.

That makes sense. Where in FileZilla can I set the folder into which the files download? It always used to automatically go to My Documents, but there's nothing there.

Err, on the left (local) side? Note: On Windows 7, 'Documents and Settings' is not an actual directory, but a Junction. Please use the 'C:\Users' directory.
