It also happens (but not frequently and quite randomly) on an OVH server we have.
Just a typical openssh 5.3p1 server, with no patches at all. And obviously, we have absolutely no control over the OVH network backbone.

We have 2 identical server with the same version of FTP software running, On one it works and on the other I get the error. I already rebooted the one where I cannot connect but that did not help. Connect with other FTP clients does work on both servers.

Can anybody recommend another FTP client?
On the box it said "Needs Win98 or better" - so I installed Linux.
