Force show hidden files issue

I use FileZilla 3.2.7.2 on Ubuntu and and FileZilla 3.3.1 on my Mac. Both force showing hidden files turned on and both do not show the .htaccess file on server A.
If I however use FileZilla (Ubuntu and Mac versions) to make a connection to another server (server B) I can see the .htaccess of that particular website. This seems to be a a configuration difference between both servers. What difference would that be? How can I debug?

Remember the big warning you got when you used the "force showing of hidden files" the first time? It said that it's only needed on broken servers and may or may not work.

In other words, your server is broken. A proper server never hides files from you.

Please contact the server administrator so that he can install a proper server.

Could it be server A supports MLSD? "Force showing hidden files" has no effect on MLSD.

How do I enable force show hidden files?
I need to get my .htaccess, but can't find it.

Using v. 3.3.1

Menu Server. There is a big chance that it'll not work.
