Hi, I'm really new to this. Ihave 2 computers, my new one running WinXP Pro & the old one running Debian. My son, who programs in the UK, suggested I should set my Debian machine up as a server; an idea I find really interesting. He also suggested using Filezilla to move files over to the linux machine.
I have downloaded Filezilla and can see the sense in what he says, but I really need help in setting up my system.
My Windows machine has an IP address 192.168.1.13 & the Debian machine has an IP address 192.168.1.12, they can ping each other. Also They work through a router, 192.168.1.2, which can also be pinged. I have tentatively tried getting Filezilla to work, but somewhere along the line I'm missing something. I've ensured the firewall will allow it to work.
Would anyone have any ideas please?
