530 login error?

#1 Post by SYSEX73 » 2006-02-15 15:48

I recently re-pnstalled XP prp and obviously dud the same with filezilla.

The exact same settins are no longer letting me log into the FTP im connecting to. I get a 530 login error. I installed with all the stock options, and my partner is able to connect with the exact same settings.

Any ideas?

Please post some complete logs, enable debug options in the settings. And remember to post in the appropriate forum (client support) the next time.

Ok, I'm not sure if I should be posting this here, but I'm having the same issue. I think it's probably because I'm on a laptop at work (which is behind a firewall). I havn't tried using my laptop at home, but I havn't had any issues with my desktop.

Here is the logs. I've checked the password several times, and I know that's correct. Does anyone have any ideas?

Response: 530 Login incorrect.

Hi

I signed up just to create a few posts to hopefully help others experiencing this issue

Problem
--------

->You cannot connect to ANY ftp server via filezilla or any other program
-> You get a 530 incorrect password error after every attempt despite using correct login info

Solution
--------

Go to %AppData%\Filezilla if you're on a PC and double check that the password is correct
Correct it if necessary and try to log in again..

Reason
--------
Bizarrely Encoded / Truncated (an expert on this subject ought to chime in)

So people after 2 days of on/off research I'm glad to have found a solution .. sure its a pain to modify this file each time but it helps a hell of a lot right now and I hope it helps you guys too ..
