Certain binary files truncated in SSL mode

#1 Post by mjgroff » 2006-04-20 01:32

I found yesterday a ~32KB DLL kept getting truncated to ~28kb when uploaded with an explicit SSL connection. It is definitely truncated - its not just me reading the file sizes wrong.

I saw this yesterday with 2.2.19a and today tried 2.2.20 with no change. I tried going back to an older build, 2_2_15, and the problem went away. I've seen similar posts that would suggest the opposite, that this used to be a problem and was fixed last fall. I'm seeing the opposite.

I found the same problem with at least one more file out of half a dozen or so I tried with. It's 36KB, also truncated by about 4KB. Ironically its a utility exe I wrote to send a control code to Filezilla server. It can be found here (intact version):
http://www.grandriverhosting.com/sendCt ... ezilla.zip

The client is talking to Filezilla Server 0.9.14a but I eliminiated it as the cause by reproducing the problem with a different SSL FTP server and not reproducing the problem using a different SSL FTP client.

I just tried 2.2.18. It worked. The problem started after that build.

Thanks for reporting, I could reproduce this problem. I'll try to release a fixed version as soon as possible.
