Uploaded images turn out bad

#1 Post by Heffy » 2006-05-03 00:07

I'm using FileZilla 2.2.19 with XP Pro with all updates. I have been using different versions in the past with the same problem so I thought I would ask why this is happening. I have the file transfer set to auto detect and when I upload a number of images in .jpg form the images look real bad. If I change to binary and upload them they come out fine.

Jpg's are binary files and thus have to be transferred in binary mode. You must have set the transfer mode to Ascii accidentally.

I have FileZilla set on Auto on both desktop and laptop. I may upload 12 .jpg's at a time and they come out looking pretty bad. I then have to change the setting to Binary and upload 1 at a time to make sure the display right. Having the setting on Auto doesn't seem to detect the .jpg's and switch to Binary for those files.

Please have a look at the ascii filetype list in the settings dialog, make sure .jpg isn't in it.
If you still have problems, please post some full logs.
