Index page is the only page that doesnt update

Here's the situation: When I make changes to the index (home) page of my website on the notepad, then i drag a drop to the left box on filezilla, double click and it uploads successfully to the right side, which means the updates are supposed to show online when I refresh.

For my index page only it will not refresh. When I save a revised version in notepade..."view source" on my homepage does not reflect the changes. Filezilla says all the uploads went through fine.

If you re-download the version from the FTP server, does it contain the changes? If yes, you are fooled by your browser serving you with a page from its cache.
