Unable to connect!

#1 Post by dbroer » 2006-07-01 13:16

Hello,

I'm having a problem getting FileZilla to connect to any of my web servers. I've searched through the forums and everyone else who had this problem seemed to be caused by firewalls and antivirus software. I don't have either running (or started) and I can not connect to my web servers.

Here is the log from my attempt:

Status: Connecting to 69.64.54.102 ...
Trace: FtpControlSocket.cpp(1140): DoClose(0) OpMode=1 OpState=-1 caller=0x003e9ae4

I've tried using the domain and the ip address to no avail. I can and have connected for years using ws-ftp and have no problems. I have verified the username and passwords and everything seems to be right.

Is there a settings difference between ws-ftp and FileZilla? This is my first time trying a different ftp client in a long time so I'm not sure what could be wrong.

Any help/direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Likely a misconfigured firewall.

Sorry...I'm not running a firewall. Like I said, I can access the site through WSFTP but can not through FileZilla. The first time I loaded FileZilla I got this error and so I tried my WSFTP client and it had not problems. The error seems to be some kind of setting or configuration of FileZilla.

I was hoping that someone might have a reason why. It looks like a really good application but I just can't get it to work.

Thanks for the suggestion though...

Dave
