saving passwords

#1 Post by tonglebeak » 2004-06-15 13:32

I've created a new site in site manager, but my passwords will not save. The password box isn't even allowed to get input for some reason, and the "Don't Save Password" box is NOT checked. Any help?

Please read the installer dialogs. You've selected to enable secure mode during setup. Just reinstall FileZilla and choose not to enable secure mode.

Oh ok. Thanks.

But here's the thing:

there are two other XP accounts on this computer. Doesn't not installing it in secure mode mean they can access my sites as well? If so, anyway to get around it while having the password still saved?

In multi-user environments you may choose to store the settings in the registry (see setup).

Another possibility is to store the config file (if using xml storage) in your (hopefully secure) profile directory. You can use the '-config filename' cmdline switch to point FileZilla to the new location of the config.
