Don't waste your time with Filezilla programmers. Leave them alone in their "All-But-Microsoft-World"
and use WinSCP 5.2.5

PS: Nobody knows if it's a bug in IIS or in GnuTLS (Filezilla uses GnuTLS libraries for TLS).

I see Microsoft posted a fix that covers IIS 8, but I'm experiencing this problem with IIS 7.5. Does anyone have a case open with Microsoft related to IIS 7.5 (Windows 2008 R2)? I searched for a MS fix for IIS 7.5 related to this problem, but came up empty-handed. Am I missing something?

Just upgrade to IIS 8.

@botg: The fix is only for Windows 8.x/Server2012Rx. Furthermore, IIS 7.5 is a system component, I'm not sure you can upgrade it.

I hate to agree. It may be a problem in IIS. Some developers work around it, some ignore it. No matter which is right or which is wrong - users end up using the software that works. I just switched to CuteFTP since that one works, after having this problem with filezilla for several days - which does not work.

Relevant sidenote:
I registered just to help others here on the forum with this issue. I was not allowed to register, since I use gmail. I was just denied. The message was that I should not use google since they are insecure in some way, and the culprit of a lot of spam. "Please use another provider!" - denied. You think this is a joke, but I am serious - google "filezilla forum gmail". I had to use a work email address.
This is relevant, since I think it shows that the developers do not see to the products and users best interest, in favor of making political statements against large IT-corporations. Part A) refusing to work around a (huge) microsoft bug even though it means their own users suffer because the software is unusable, and B) refusing to accept google email users in their forum, even though their own users suffer when in need or trying to help eachothers. This kind of "goal", or agenda, is unprofessional. The developers actively chose these shortcomings in order to have the benefit of smearing large companies - therefore do NOT expect a workaround for this issue, or any similar issues in the future. I love filezilla as a product, but I do not support political agendas of software developers and will chose another provider. What happens next, I cannot connect to ftp servers in israel because of palestine? I cannot connect to IIS at all because it's "insecure"? I cannot transfer files with arabic names becuase its terrorist? Unprofessional and unacceptable.

I've experienced this for a while so have decided to fix it.
I've downloaded the hotfix https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/hot ... kbln=en-gb for my Windows Server 2012 x64 machine but when I try to install it it says it's not for my machine.

I've double checked that it's a Windows Server 2012 x64 machine and that I'm downloading the correct version.

Any advice?

I'm not really confident with installing/configuring new server software.
I've switched to another client which is working. It's much simpler.
