I found out the hard way that at http://support2.microsoft.com/hotfix/KB ... kbln=en-us, you need to read and understand the text to see the "Windows8 RTM" version does include the patches for Windows 2012. I've downloaded the hotfix https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/hot ... kbln=en-gb for my Windows Server 2012 x64 machine but when I try to install it it says it's not for my machine.
I've double checked that it's a Windows Server 2012 x64 machine and that I'm downloading the correct version.
I skipped the Windows 8 line as I read it as "Windows 8 RT" which is a totally different product...
