Explorer icons disappeared

#1 Post by markwolk » 2006-10-15 05:20

When I installed FileZilla, I was seeing Explorer icons both under Local and Remote sites.

Then, I installed "Word" (which I purchased a few days ago in a computer shop) and Explorer icons disappeared totally from my PC. I managed to to solve that problem by installing a bunch of updates from the Microsoft website. Although, I always keep my PC up-to-date, there were apparently a few updates that had been wiped out by the "Word" installation.

Now, I can see Explorer icons in all my folders, but not in the FileZilla program. I see the "default / unidentified file" icons instead. Any ideas how I can fix that?

I'd recommend OpenOffice instead of Word ;)

It looks something on your system is broken, a complete reinstall of everything might help.

Yeah; that's the last time I install "Microsoft Word". It is extremely cumbersome and full of bugs. Thanks.

Not quite ready for a reinstall yet... as this is what I have done 10 days ago, having received a new hard drive.
