Hope it's in the right forum.

I write it here again since trac is dead.

http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/8492:
FileZilla is very slow ~5MB/s when using sftp to upload a file to my local SSH file server only, while the Linux command-line tool "sftp" is much faster:

$ sftp sshserver@127.0.0.1
sftp> put Filename.tar
Filename.tar 100% 379MB 20.0MB/s 00:19

I'm really wondering why this is.

The 2013-03-04 build is indeed faster: settled at ~10MB/s on a 2.5GB file.
While the tool "sftp" is 16,6MB/s on the same file, so still room for improvement.
Interesting, would not have thought that a client can determine the speed.

Clients and servers can make a huge difference in speed.
