filezilla opening to an email account

filezilla opening to an email account
I am a novice creating a website. I have uploaded my wordpress files to the filezilla public_html area as I was directed. When I attempt to open my new website, it says I must not have uploaded to this area. Also, in the bar above the filezilla display, it says that I am opening the correct file, but to my email address. How do I change this?
