desperately trying to solve this problem I ask you guys for help.
Setting up a server connection in Filezilla results in:
Code: Select all
Status: Resolving address of ftp.folienmeister.info
Status: Connecting to 87.106.117.96
Status: Connected, waiting for welcome message...
Command: CLNT https://ftptest.net on behalf of 84.185.206.107
Reply: 500 CLNT not understood
Command: USER XYZ1
Reply: 331 Password required for XYZ1
Command: PASS *******
Error: Login refused by server
Here are my tests to narrow down the issue - leading to even more confusion:
1. Trying login from Computer A with same settings - no problem (-> no PW issue, no settings issue)
2. exporting config with two server entries, importing both in Computer B; login not possible for the above site - the other works fine (-> Computer B can actually connect to the internet and to port 21)
3. tried https://ftptest.net -- failed on both computers stating the PW is wrong
4. downgraded Filezilla on Computer B to 3.7.3 as on Computer A - no success
Any idea? From my analysis I think I can rule out:
a. general connection problems, Computer A and B are in the same WLan
b. password issues (filezilla.xml export-import)
c. configuration issues (filezilla.xml export-import)
d. version issues
e. ftp server too busy - login works perfectly any time from Computer A
So.... there I am, no idea how to proceed.
Any ideas highly appreciated.
Cheers,
