Hi there!

I'm trying to connect to my webspace over SFTP. For this I need to use my private key while the public key is on the server itself.

This works good with PuttY, but I can't connect with FileZilla. I've already tried the instruction from https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Howto#Windows but with no success - obviously. Is there any known bug with it or do I need to configure something to get it working together?

Any kind of help is highly appreciated.

Make sure both FileZilla and Pageant run using the same user account and that neither of the two processes runs with elevated rights.

I just downloaded FileZilla and cannot get key-based auth working with our server with the key in Pageant. It also doesn't work when I try to point FZ at the key file. Initially the file was protected by a passphrase, but I re-saved it without one, and it still didn't work. The error message did not provide a sufficient explanation about why it wouldn't connect. FZ did connect to a different server successfully with a pageant key.

The same connection that doesn't work in FZ works perfectly when I try it in WinSCP, using the key from Pageant. The end user is using FZ. I am checking whether they are locked into that software for some reason.

Is your Pageant/PuTTY the latest version?
