Windows 10

#1 Post by fredrik » 2015-01-25 10:28

Hi,
Since I installed Microsoft Windows 10 I can not use FileZilla.
I get the following error message from Filezilla.
Is there anyone who can give me a tip on how I should do?
Kind Regards,
Fredrik Andersson

Command: AUTH TLS
Response: 234 AUTH TLS OK.
Status: Initializing TLS...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server

Windows 10 is currently not supported in Filezilla because it was never officially released. You can still download and install Windows 10, but it is being developed.

This issue seems independent of Windows 10. It appears your server simply does not support FTP over TLS correctly.

All you have to do it right click on your FileZilla icon in Windows 10 and set the compatibility mode to Windows 7 - I'm using Windows 10 and I have no problems using FileZilla.

I'm having similar issues.

It may be that it's something to do with my webserver, but the fact that it only happens on Windows 10 is also true.

I have a laptop that I use for work I have different SSDs that I physically swap out in it. 1 of them is my work hard drive that my IT department built for me to use my work network. It runs Windows 7.

The other is a basic Windows 10 installation. Nothing special done to it. Firewall is running default settings.

I can successfully FTP to my server if I do so from the Windows 7 drive.

If I try to FTP to my server on the Windows 10 machine I can not retrieve the directory listing. This is also true if I simply disable Windows Firewall. I do not have 3rd party firewall protection on this drive at this time.

Does the Windows 10 have the Application Layer Gateway Service running, maybe?

Very bad choice and advice. That ancient version is full of bugs and security vulnerabilities - the only thing it lacks is support.

Good luck, you'll dearly need it.

Any update. Files are easily uploaded on window 7 but on window 10 it's display message failed to transfer the files. All timeout, Window Compatibility done but still the same problem.

Hi, you must be kidding... reviving this after two years? -1 karma for necro-posting.

Windows 10 is supported (more or less due to it's nature of changing rapidly) and this thread is DEAD.

If you have problems, please open your own thread and give as much details as possible. Your problem most probably has nothing to do with Windows 10 directly.

Thanks.
