updated filezilla, getting error - econnrefused... please help

Hello, I updated my FileZilla from 3.16.0.1 to 3.17.0.1 today.
I am now getting an error "Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".
Error: Could not connect to server"

I need help, I have to upload some files to the server. It was working before I allowed FileZilla to update. Please help.

Two possibilities: Either it's just unfortunate timing with the server having a technical problem or there is some firewall on your machine blocking the new version.

That happened to me too.

I have now 3.18.0 (updated today). All FileZilla versions have been working last 10 years without any problem, but one day, and I'm not sure if it happened same day updating new version, but near by there anyway, I just start to get those messages. It's now 2 to 3 weeks, and I'm working on Internet 16/24, but can not now with out FTP !!

I have tried everything possible. Turn off firewall, turn off virus protection, called to my hosting provider and just few mins ago the technician from my Internet provider left, he didn't knew why this happen.

So "unfortunate timing with the server" - 3 weeks, 24/7, no way
"some firewall on your machine blocking" - let me tell you...

When this start, I used 2 computers as always, laptops, and both went to same situation even I was not updated other PC. Few days later I got brand new laptop, installed FileZilla, the same.

What this can be ?!!

Is it possible that Internet provider block that connection? I was forced to change to some new system couple months ago. The original outsourced service, and they just bring new router and from day one unbelievable problems, and really bad support if at all.

One more thing. I have also tried with few other FTP programs, results are same.

Oh yea, I have 20+ connections in FileZilla, and all they are same now.

Did you get it fixed and if yes, how? It would be great when every one could submit if and how they get fixed problem they was asking help for.

What I can do if that is my problem, maybe?

Of course I understand this is a FZ forum but when anyone (not just in this case) give answer 'your problem is this or there', and that problem could be related to asked FZ problem, than could it be possible to tell what/how to do, and not just point to problem?

This is SO big problem for me, that I have to try solve this one way or other. Is it OK, if I uninstall FZ, and install old version like 3.9.0.6 ?

I will do it in less used PC, and I have that old version installer on it.

Uninstalled and installed this one: FileZilla-3.15.0.1 - 2016-02-02 11:08 8.9M

What is this in your error message "ECONNREFUSED" ?

And as you see, I do get connected (if this means something like that "Connection established") but then...
