#1 Post by mikeCBE » 2007-09-01 14:46

Could anyone tell me why I am getting disconnected from my FTP server AS SOON AS I get connected? HERE IS THE MESSAGE DISPLAYED EVERYTIME I TRIED TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER
"
Status: Waiting to retry... (5 retries left)
Status: Connecting to mekeled ...
Status: Connected with mekeled. Waiting for welcome message...
Error: Disconnected from server
Error: Unable to connect!
AND IT GOES ON TO RETRY AND GOT THE SAME MESSAGE

Well it seems either 'mekeled' is no valid FTP server or some firewall is blocking communication.

You need to provide more information. What server software is 'mekeled'? Is it configured correctly (default is not neccessarily correct)?
It has no Top Level Domain, so I assume it is a local server. Is it on the same machine as the client?

Then your client log tells it is connecting briefly, and then dropping for whatever reason.

1st: You should update to the latest versions of your client and server.
2nd: Please provide server logs for the same time as the client logs.
3rd: In case of Filezilla client, enable debug logging and post logs again.

As for the disabled firewall: double check. And remember there is also a firewall on your side. Use Passive mode.

Presently I can't tell you more due to the missing information.

Err yes, please excuse the baad English...
