Selection and position reset when renaming remote item

#1 Post by tedych » 2016-12-10 20:30

When renaming a file in the remote server pane, the selection and position in the list is reset and the focus (semi-focus) moves to the top of the list. Extremely unacceptable for more than a ten-files list. Makes managing remote files very hard if I have to rename few files.
If this is not on purpose, please could you fix this?

Is there anything we can do to fix this behavior?
Renaming a file should keep the focus (selected file) the same file I just renamed.

This is unfortunately a very complicated feature to add. When a new directory listing gets processed by the GUI in response to the rename operation, it no longer knows that there has been a rename operation. Even if it had such knowledge, there is no mechanism to associate a particular listing as being the reply to a (and if so which) rename operation as there are other possible listing sources.

Ok, thanks, good at least know.
By the way, a workaround could be to drop the refresh operation of the whole list but only change the file entry being renamed, in the list.
