Strange click/drag behaviour with file tree controls in MacOS Sierra

#1 Post by epicurius7 » 2017-01-12 00:37

Just updated a Mac to Sierra, and it is now exhibiting strange behaviour in Filezilla (3.23.0.2).

In Site Manager, clicking on folders to open/close them triggers a 'drag and drop' and places them inside of the folder above.

This also led to a folder in FTP being moved accidentally while trying to select it (I can see a flash of the 'drag icon' on a single click instead of a hold), so I suspect it's a general issue across the application.

I've not seen this odd mouse behaviour in other applications on Sierra as yet. It doesn't show any dropped connection errors elsewhere.

What kind of pointing device do you use?

Apple Magic Mouse.

There's no issue when I disable Drag and Drop in filezilla.xml (but I do actually need to do this, so only a temp solution).

I cannot reproduce this using a normal mouse.

Make sure not to accidentally move the mouse while clicking.

Even the quickest, lightest click I try can trigger a 'drag-drop' in the site manager.

I'm wondering if it's wxWidgets related. I'll have a go at compiling and testing the demos...

I think TextWrangler is also exhibiting some odd behaviour when selecting (no idea what widget library it uses), so I'll just have to try it with different mice and see if I can pin down the fault to the device.

EDIT: BBEdit doesn't have the mouse selection issues that the now obsolete TextWrangler does.

Unfortunately there's little I can do with the issue not reproducible here :|

I Canconfirm this behavior is stillhere on MAC.
Filezilla is unusable on mac with magic mouse. With single click you drag and drop directories and files. with no move of the mouse. even with superfast click.
Im strugling with this every day.

The problem is still there. I've had a nightmare day because of this.

Using MacOs Monterey and magic mouse. No problem with some previous versions of MacOs.

Do you still experience this issue if you use a proper mouse that's built using technology instead of the arcane?

I have also suffered from this catastrophic issue since 2016. Please give us an option to completely disable drag and drop, or add a confirmation prompt. Thank you.

Another one asking for this.

It is minimum 15 times I moved accidentally a folder and I would like to disable the drag and drop option or at least have a confirmation prompt before moving anything on the server.

Is that difficult to implement this?

If you search the forums there are dozens of people asking for this since many years ago.
