Cannot see public_html (or any other directories)

#1 Post by sc0user » 2018-07-25 08:49

Hi all,

I can connect to the remote site ok, but I get a directory listing of / (nothing there!)

Status: Retrieving directory listing of "/"...
Status: Directory listing of "/" successful

How do I get a lising of my sites directories?

I tried entering public_html but to no avail

Command: CWD /publci_html
Response: 550 Can't change directory to /publci_html: No such file or directory
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

What am I not doing?

The file and directory structure is fully up to the hosting provider. The public_html directory is not a standard and does not have to exist at all. If there's no subdirectory, simply upload to the root.

If in doubt or if it doesn't work, contact your hosting provider - it's their server, after all.

I don't know if that's a copy paste, or a retyping, but you've spelt 'public' wrong.
