Weird .map links showing up in logs

#1 Post by luxint » 2018-08-16 19:15

I was working on a site for a client since moving it from my development environment to the live environment I've noticed a lot of weird links showing up in the log files.

They look like this...

Code: Select all

/sm/31d5cd1b58ce5e6231e4ea03a69b2801a53e76e98152bc29dc82a494ed0a1ee6.map
https://www.screencast.com/t/DjrdokHD

... and they come from my home IP address.

I've also narrowed it down to Filezilla and have confirmed it by shutting down the application for a period of time, and no further links are shown, but when I start it up again, the .map links start appearing.

My question is, what are these links, why is Filezilla attempting to connect to the site to find these pages and how do I stop it?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

These files are not from FileZilla.

FileZilla does not access remote files unless it's the direct result of a user-initiated action.

Even then, it does not access files using HTTP and claim it's a web browser.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll just have to keep on looking and try to figure it out.
