Issue with Directory Access Permissions

#1 Post by m2kfn » 2018-10-15 11:26

I just bought the Pro version from the App Store, and I can't add any local files.

Whenever I try to it says: "Could not create security-scoped bookmark from URL: The file couldn’t be opened."

I've read on the forums about granting access through the edit menu, however I don't get an edit menu when I open the App. (see attached).

How can I fix it?

Thanks!

Just press Add directory, then add all your desired download target directories to the Exclusions.
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!

It won't let me. I try to and then I get the popup error message.

Which directory are you trying to grant access to?

What is your version of macOS?

I'm running Mojave (Version 10.14).

I've tried granting access to a range of different folders.

Is there a specific directory i'm supposed to be linking to?

Are these directories residing on your local harddisk or are they on things like external drives or network resources?

Are you any third-part virus scanners or sandboxing software?

It may also be worth to try the beta of Mojave 14.1. Apart from that I'm out of ideas.

Hi. Any update on this? I just encountered the same issue. Same setup. Mojave on a Mac. It just tells me I can't add a directory. Same message.

Any directory. I'm unable to load any folder. Here's a video: https://youtu.be/TlfbxKOyYzo

And, to get out of this loop, I have to Force Quit.

What happens if you scroll down in the leftmost column and select your computer under the Locations section, then in the second column select your Macintosh HD?

Same. "Could not create security-scoped bookmark from URL: The file couldn't be opened."

This makes no sense at all.

Please try this, launch the Terminal app and enter these two commands to query the status of System Integrity Protection and Gatekeeper:

Code: Select all

csrutil status
spctl --status
What do these commands output?
