I just installed FileZilla and after entering host , username and pswd,
I get
status: Disconnected from server
status: connecting to the host
response: f2sftp started, protocol ver 8
commnand: open host@username port 22
error: connection time out after 200 sec
error: could not connect to server

and it repeats the above a 2nd time

what do i need to try

First, check that the fzsftp executable is unblocked in your Firewall (outgoing connection).

Then, check if you entered all information, including Hostname, correctly.

Finally, check that you didn't confuse FTPS for SFTP. Both have nothing in common except similar name and purpose. Try to connect using FTP (port 21).
