FileZilla behind proxy with SSL scanning

#1 Post by tolot27 » 2018-11-20 14:58

Hi,

I'm behind a corporate/governmental proxy requiring authentication and which performs SSL scanning. Unfortunately, I did not find a way to tell FileZilla to trust our proxy (root) certificate. Hence, the update check fails with:

Code: Select all

Connection with proxy established, performing handshake...
Connection established, initializing TLS...
Verifying certificate...
Remote certificate not trusted.
Also, it is not possible to connect to any server outside.

I created a trustedcerts.xml in %APPDATA%\FileZilla and placed our root certificate as hex-encoded string in the data node as well as either update.filezilla-project.org or our proxy IP address in the host node. Unfortunately, it gets ignored.

How can I use FileZilla behind our proxy?

Kind regards,
Mathias

For security reasons the update certificate is hard-coded and cannot be changed. Can't have a third-party pretend to serve FileZilla updates.
