Difficulty In Transferring Image Files

#1 Post by beavberto » 2004-10-09 10:43

Hi All
I have recently started using Filezilla 2.2.8d and it appears to be a great FTP client. I only have one difficulty (probably caused by myself ) :D . When I upload image files they often don't appear to transfer properly. The term APPE is appended in front of the file name and the old file remains on the server.

Here is the log of the (non) transfer :)

Status: Starting upload of C:\FTP Folder\Radley Auctioneers\thumb87.gif
Command: CWD /home/radleyauctioneers/html/images/
Response: 250 CWD command successful.
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/home/radleyauctioneers/html/images" is current directory.
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (10,0,0,1,11,75)
Command: TYPE A
Response: 200 Type set to A.
Command: LIST
Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for directory listing.
Response: 226 Transfer complete.
Command: TYPE I
Response: 200 Type set to I.
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (10,0,0,1,11,77)
Command: APPE thumb87.gif
Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for thumb87.gif.
Response: 226 Transfer complete.
Status: Upload successful
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (10,0,0,1,11,80)
Command: TYPE A
Response: 200 Type set to A.
Command: LIST
Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for directory listing.
Response: 226 Transfer complete.
Status: Directory listing successful
Command: TYPE A
Response: 200 Type set to A.
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/home/radleyauctioneers/html/images" is current directory.
Status: Disconnected from server

If I try often enough the file will eventually transfer. it doesn't happen with new files only with ones I have edited and am attempting to upload.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Check what you have set as "default file exists action" in the settings dialog. Setting it to resume may cause the described behaviour

I checked the default file exists action and it was set to ask. I changed it to overwrite if newer restarted the client and still no luck. Thanks for your help
