How to avoid Copy/move accidentally

Hello all,

Newbie here so please be gentle. We had a situation where we were using FileZilla to browse log files and config files on a linux server and accidentally moved a file to a folder where it should not have been. It caused a batch process to fail and a lot of headaches.

Is there a configuration parameter to confirm file moves or copies? We have configured the "Ask for Action" for transfers in both directions, but it does not help for moves on the server.

Of course, we try to be as careful as possible, but nobody is perfect...

Thoughts? (this is the be nice part, please)

Dean

Please note that "Ask for action" is only meant for cases of trying to overwrite existing files. Generally, Drag and Drop always happens right away, like in the OS itself.

You can completely disable Drag and Drop in FileZilla, this will prevent such accidents. The question is if you really want this?
