How do I find out what The Host, Username, password and port are meant to contain,

That's information you can get only from your hosting provider (as it's information about their server).

Host - Server name / URL
Username - Name of your FTP account with them
Password - the super secret password of that account
Port - Usually not required to fill anything in, most hosters use the default port.
