Transfer speed problem

#1 Post by DarkZone » 2019-07-26 21:43

Hi.

My download speed should be around 12 Mb/s. And to make sure I have tried downloading a file using IDM, and I got the same speed.

But when I tried to download something from seedbox to my pc, the download speed would not exceed 2.6 Mb/s, why is that?

Looking for your help.

FileZilla displays speeds in MB/s (Megabytes/second), but your ISP displays speeds in Mb/s (Megabits). You need to take that into consideration.

1MB/s = 8Mb/s.

Actually it displays speed in Mib/s, which I think very similar to Mb/s. The maximum speed I got is 2.6 Mib/s.

No, FileZilla uses MiB/s (note the capital B). Capital B means "Byte". Lowercase b means "bit". One Byte = 8 bits.

FileZilla --> ISP = multiply with 8.
ISP --> FileZilla = divide by 8.

I don't know if there are any third-party or repository FileZilla packages out there displaying in Mib/s. Anyway, it doesn't matter because only the original version from here is supported by us.
