Connection via Proxy

I connect via an app on my phone to the internet. The app creates a proxy server 192.168.49.1 Port 8282 (No username and password)
If I change my connection settings under FTP Proxy, it doesn't connect at all. If I change it under Generic Proxy, and put it those details, it connects, but as soon as I start the transfer, it will get to about 60% and then will disconnect.
How do I fix this?
