FileZilla 3.44.1 crashes on start

Hi,

Yesterday I updated Filezilla as usual, but now it immediately stops when I open it. The Filezilla window is partially visible for a brief moment before it exists. I get no error whatsoever, it justs exits. I already removed the program, restarted my pc and reinstalled Filezilla. Unfortunately with the same result.

Any ideas or solutions? I've been using Filezilla for many years and never had this issue.

I have Windows 10 64 bits with all current updates. The update and reinstall both worked fine, but opening is not possible :(

If you need any more information, let me know please.

Best regards.

Do you have it configured to open the Site Manager on startup and are also using predefined sites through fzdefaults.xml?

Hi Botg,

Thanks for your response.

Yes, the sitemanager always opens directly. I don't think I am using predefined sites, the file you are refferring to does not look familiar (not 100% sure though).

Best regards

Could you please try the latest nightly build from https://filezilla-project.org/nightly.php ?

Hi,

I downloaded the nightly build and copied the files into the Filezilla folder (also kept the original ones in a seperate folder).

It works. I also noticed that I have the file fzdefaults.xml. I have this for the setting to set my config location to a Dropbox folder.

Should I keep using the nightly build? Or do I need to do something else?

Thanks for your help so far.

Err, 3.44.2 stable is already out with the fix. Although @botg forgot to update the download pages, they still point to 3.44.1.

Manually searching for updates from within the client will work, however.
