Cipher Algorithms support history

#1 Post by strano666 » 2019-09-19 14:56

Hi to all,

first of all thanks for the great product.

I have to disable some cipher algorithms due to their weakness (i.e. diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 key-exchange, 3des-ctr encryption, etc).

I would to know what Filezilla clients i will cut out disabling various algorithms: so i looking for an history of Cipher Algorithms support.

I know that is a weird request and probably there isn't such kind of history (or not? :) ), so also a search pattern it is appreciate (i.e. what have i to search into changelog/release)?.

Thanks

There's no such history.

There is no way to extract this information in the changelog?

Not with confidence. Also, supported algorithms depend transitively on the versions of the used libraries FileZilla is linked against.

Why do you need the history anyhow? All that matters is what the current version supports, all other versions are unsupported.

As i said, it is a weird request, i know :D
"request from the top" :)

The question would be "If i disable the XXX cipher algorithm and let enable only YYY cipher algorithm, i cut out the old clients which not support the newest YYY cipher algorithm but only XXX. What are these clients?"

Anyway, your answer is what i expected, but i've tried.

Thanks!

No sane person uses old clients. It's safe to cut them out.
